Aliza

Aliza’s after party called for something glamorous, modern and easy to dance the night away in. The original inspiration was a gown she spotted while shopping for a friends wedding several years prior. While hanging onto most of the design elements that she loved about the inspiration, things took a left turn when we stumbled upon this incredible lace. After that, things just fell into place- the different shades of tulle in her skirt, this beautiful crystal belt detail, even the base fabric. Trust the journey. It can turn out more beautiful than you expect.

Ani

Every party girl needs a party look! Something sparkly for this babe. She chose the most beautiful beaded mesh for these low riding flared pants, and we paired that with a pleated tulle for the top, taking inspiration from one of our favourite designers. I added some vintage pearl buttons up the back, fishing line hem. And then I used some of the leftover beads from the pants to add a bit of sparkle on top. I finished the look off with the biggest bow her head could handle. The oversized scrunchie came into play in the wee hours of the night to keep dancing til the sun came up.

Trina

Trina thought she was too indecisive for a custom gown, but after several appointments to try on gowns, nothing was ever quite right. After reaching out, I asked her to put together a Pinterest page. Not only of details and gowns she liked, but of flowers, bridesmaids looks, anything that would set the tone for her day. Even though the images were all very different, there was a common thread throughout. We went slow, step by step and worked through an entire pandemic to create this gown and veil of her dreams.

Alison

Alison came to me looking for a linen wedding gown. She was getting married in the middle of August in Toronto, light and airy was key. I loved the idea of a linen gown, but suggested pairing the linen bodice with a tulle skirt to give the dreamy look she was after. A button detail was on her list, and I happened to have some soft dusty rose silk buttons in my stash. I gave each layer of tulle a dip in a soft dusty rose bath to pull everything together and the result was absolute magic.

Victoria

Victoria found this amazing sequin skirt at Loversland in Toronto, but was having a hard time finding the right top for the look she wanted. She wanted something easy, like “I just threw this on” kind of vibe. She also wanted to incorporate some of her partners Sikh culture. Typically white is the colour for mourning. After playing with a few options, we came up with this super chic, hand dyed kimono style top. Something she can wear again and again for years to come.

Nabilah

Nabilah wanted to mix her South Asian culture with the Western style she grew up with. Her mother’s necklace that she wore was the inspiration behind the colours used in creating her gown. And her mood board set a clear course for the overall feel. Layers of soft grey tulle adorned with hundreds of Swarovski crystals all placed my hand. Creating a beautiful and dynamic gown. The perfect pair.

Mackenzie

Mackenzie was my youngest bride. At 21, she knew she had met her lobster. And at 22, she knew exactly what she wanted to wear to mark their commitment to each other. We went fabric shopping together with her family and found the perfect lace. So perfect, that when I was cutting out lace pieces for her veil, I noticed they created the shape of a heart. A higher power was certainly guiding us all while creating this gown.

Terri

When Terri got in touch, she didn’t have anything specific in mind besides the colour, Green. Awesome! We met at a coffee shop on Queen St. discussed what she was looking for. We narrowed it down to a couple designs, from there we let the shade of green tell us which direction. Inspired by a Kate Middleton dress coat, this incredible emerald green, satin back, silk/wool was exactly it! The burnt yellow guipure lace was a striking contrast to give a peekaboo effect, hiding in the pleats. A beautiful look for the city hall bride.
